Funders

Arawak Walton has supported WRYOA now since 2015. They initially funded our girls group, allowing us to get it up and running again, as it hadn’t been running for some time. Since then the girls group has gone from strength to strength, giving girls and young women a space to come along and get involved in great activities, trips and workshops that are fun and sometimes challenging. Arawak have also supported the project as a whole, including our holiday play schemes, administrative work and Celebrate festival.
Thank you for your continued support from all at WRYOA.
Children in Need
(2019-2022)
We are delighted to announce that we have received funding for our JNR8’ing Good Health Project, from BBC Children in Need. Activities include Thai Boxing, which is indeed an activity where we have seen some real positive changes in young people, and our healthy eating sessions, which again are a big part of what we do. So, it’s a massive thank you to BBC Children in Need, from staff and young people at WRYOA.
(2018-2020)
Young Manchester funding allows us to run the DoEA, which is a huge element of our work now, our girls group on a Monday and general youth club activities, including fitness sessions a Thursday. They also funded us through the Outdoor Education programme, allowing us to provide a residential and BMX’ing trip. This funding has been massively beneficial to young people from Whalley Range and surrounding areas, ensuring provision, and for that we are extremely grateful.
